Practice facilities: Large range, never a shortage of grass on the large tee
area. A chipping green and two putting greens. The practice greens match
the speed of the course greens. The Club allows the local High Schools to
practice and play matches here.
Course: Designed by Joe Lee. Bent grass greens, Bermuda fairways and rough.
The course is rolling, but not hilly and easy to walk. The tees are tree
lined and if your not careful where you tee the ball, a limb may be near
your flight path. The fairways have generous landing areas with a lot of
level lies. There are quite a few traps on the course, but they are most in
play near the greens. The greens are a little bigger than medium size.
Sounds like you should shoot par or better every time. We have come to the
big test of this course, the speed of the greens. They may be the fastest
in the Atlanta area. Any shot above the hole will give any seasoned player
a chance to hold their breath once the ball starts down to the hole. If you
aren't very careful, your second put will be longer than the first. The
greens are true and long up hill puts will drop. The approach shot to the
green is the key to good scores here. This course will test your skills
every time you play it. Well groomed!
