Putter Review: Odyssey Rossie II

by John Kim

Odyssey Rossie II: I get a chance to play with several different putters and it always seems that I come back to good ol' reliable. Well, not that's it THAT reliable, but it's as good as I've found. Odyssey claims that it has the most wins every year on every tour, and well, the numbers seem to back it up.

The Good: The scoring lines on the back of the putter make lining a putt up as easy as a club can make it. The weight of the putter is great and it provides a solid feel for each putt as well as a good roll off of the stronomic insert.

The Bad: Can't really complain about too much here except it doesn't make every 3 footer I need it to. I actually wish the bend in the shaft (gooseneck) were less in my putter, sometimes I put it down on the heel without realizing it. I'm sure they make more upright models.

Overall: Three words you like to hear on the green "Pick it up". Three words you don'tů"You're still away." This putter will help you hear the former more and more. Lag putts are easier and you'll hole a lot more of those pesky 15-20 footers. Short putts are easier as well. Why I keep fiddling with putters, I'll never know. I think this may be as good as I find for a long time.
